Israel–Palestinian Islamic Jihad ceasefire (2022)
⊗ CollapsedEgypt and the United Nations mediated a ceasefire after three days of fighting between Israel and Palestinian Islamic Jihad in August 2022. Another Israel–PIJ escalation in May 2023 showed that the arrangement had not become durable.
The August 2022 ceasefire ended three days of Israeli strikes and Palestinian Islamic Jihad rocket fire. Egypt was the central mediator, with the United Nations supporting the effort.
The immediate cessation held, but the wider disputes and detention issues behind the escalation were not resolved. Fighting between the same parties returned in May 2023, requiring another ceasefire. This record is marked collapsed rather than holding.
